Transportation

Cars and Trucks

Rutland City is located at the crossroads of Route 7 and Route 4.  This strategic location provides convenient access to Interstates 89, 91, and 87.  Most of the northeast is within a days drive.

Air

Rutland City is served locally by the Rutland Southern Vermont Regional Airport.  This growing airport, located just 6 miles from downtown Rutland, is served by Cape Air and currently offers 4 daily flights to Boston’s Logan Airport.  Other convenient airports, both less than a two hour drive, are Burlington International Airport (http://www.burlingtonintlairport.com/) and Albany International Airport (http://www.albanyairport.com/).

Rail

Rutland currently provides convenient passenger rail service throughout the Northeast via its Amtrack Station (http://amtrak.com) located directly in the City’s downtown.  This service puts New York City only a convenient half days travel away.
